# Audit logs

> See a trail of who did what across your business.

The **audit log** is a record of important actions taken in TillBiz — who did
what, and when. It's your trail for investigating discrepancies and keeping the
business accountable.

  Audit logs are part of the **Audit logs** feature. If it's not in your sidebar,
  your plan may not include it — see
  [Subscription & licensing](/guides/billing-addons/subscription-and-licensing).

## What's recorded

Sensitive actions are logged with details such as:

* **Who** performed the action (the user).
* **What** changed — the record and its before/after values.
* **When** it happened.
* The **action type** (create, update, delete, refund, and so on).

Examples include cancelling a paid order, refunding a payment, adjusting stock,
changing a price, or editing a user's permissions.

## Review the log

    Go to **Settings → Audit logs**.

    Narrow by user, action type, or date to find what you're looking for.

    Open an entry to see exactly what changed.

<Tip>
  When a [cash variance](/guides/point-of-sale/closing-a-shift) or stock
  discrepancy appears, the audit log is the fastest way to see what happened around
  that time.
